Freitag has more than 20 years of experience in the finance sector and in executive and non-executive board roles in major German infrastructure companies.

She has been managing director of Airport Stuttgart since 2017, and began her career as an economist at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in 1998.

TenneT Holding supervisory board chair Ab van der Touw said: “We are very pleased to welcome Arina Freitag, an extremely experienced, knowledgeable and energetic addition to the executive board.

“In her career, Arina has proven that she combines strong expertise in finance with excellent business judgment and the ability to deal with highly complex projects and demanding stakeholders.

“The supervisory board strongly believes that as CFO Arina will contribute to leading TenneT into the coming decade of record investments in the energy transition in Germany, the Netherlands and Europe.”

Freitag said: “As CFO I can make an important contribution to further driving TenneT’s key role in the energy transition.

“I’m looking forward to applying and developing my broad experience in infrastructure and dealing with challenging political and social environments to further TenneT’s growth agenda.

“I am fascinated by TenneT’s corporate mission and culture and am eager to help the organisation transform.”

Van der Touw added that Jager fulfilled the role of CFO successfully and with full dedication.

“I am pleased he will continue to do so in the coming months, ensuring a smooth handover to the new CFO,” he said.

“The supervisory board thanks Otto Jager for his contribution to the accelerated transformation of the organization.”
