Acciona Energia has agreed to sell a 49% stake in its 1,300MW US photovoltaic portfolio and its full stake in two Mexican wind farms totalling 321MW for about US$1bn.
The company said the US assets include the Red Tailed Hawk 458MWp, Fort Bend Solar 316MWp, High Point Solar Farm 127MWp and Union Solar 415MWp plants, with Acciona retaining 51%.
It added that the Mexican capacity comprises the 183MW El Cortijo and 138MW Santa Cruz wind farms in Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
According to Acciona Energía, the deal with Mexico Infrastructure Partners is expected to close in the first half of 2026 subject to approvals, completion obligations and buyer financing.
The company stated that the agreement advances its selective asset rotation strategy to unlock value and optimise capital allocation, following sales totalling almost 1.7GW since July 2024.
