Renewable energy multinational Prodiel is to install two solar projects in Spain totalling 500MW for UK company Solarcentury.
Prodiel will fit the 300MW Talayuela Solar plant in the region of Extremadura as well as the 200MW Cabrera Solar development in Seville, Andalucía, under a balance of system arrangement, Prodiel said.
The contract includes the fitting of panels and all interconnection infrastructure. Work at Talayuela will begin late this year.
The 300MW project will be one of the largest on the Iberian peninsular and will be made up of 830,000 solar panels, placed on 15,000 trackers over a 520-hectare area.
Prodiel estimates the site will get 1,850 hours of sun a year and produce around 570GW/h of energy each year.
The company has already started installation at the Cabrera development and is expected to complete by 2021.
The plant will be made up of 554,000 solar modules spread over a 400 hectare site and will produce 38GW/h of energy each year
