SunPower Corp is to install a 5MW solar system with energy storage at the University of California Merced.
The system will feature a carport-and-rooftop installation with 500kW storage supplied by Stem.
The project will be financed by a power purchase agreement and University of California Merced will own all the renewable energy credits generated.
It is the second solar system installed at the university by SunPower, which delivered a 1MW project in 2009.
SunPower executive vice president Nam Nguyen said: “SunPower looks forward to helping UC Merced achieve the economic and environmental value that SunPower’s quality solar and storage solution enables.”
