GE Vernova has been selected by IVPC Group to provide 17 6.1MW-158m onshore wind turbines for the Fortore wind farm in Benevento.
The project totals more than 100MW and was one of the largest awarded in Italy’s December 2025 GSE auction, the company said.
GE Vernova will deliver a customised operations and maintenance solution in which the two partners will collaborate on transactional maintenance activities, according to the announcement.
Turbine deliveries are due to begin in the second quarter of 2027.
The Fortore project will use GE Vernova’s 6MW platform with two-piece blade technology engineered to improve transportability and access to complex sites while maximising output.
The order follows installation of the first Cypress 6.1MW turbine in Italy at IVPC’s Montefalcone wind farm, marking the start of a multi-turbine repowering scheme.
“We are honored to extend our collaboration with IVPC Group on the Fortore wind farm. The project strengthens our presence in the country and our commitment to the European energy transition, while highlighting how our 6.1 MW–158m technology gives operators a competitive edge in auctions through large-scale, sustainable energy delivery. We look forward to continuing our strong collaboration with IVPC as we support Italy’s energy transition goals,” said Gilan Sabatier, chief commercial officer for GE Vernova’s onshore wind business in international markets.
“Building on the success of the Monfalcone project, we continue to choose GE Vernova for the flexibility of its service model-allowing us to lead transactional maintenance-and for its advanced split-blade technology, which enables deployment in locations with logistical constraints,” stated Oreste Vigorito, owner and president of IVPC Group.
