GES has commissioned the 40.8MW Parque REA Unificado de Soria, its first wind farm built for RWE.
Located in the province of Soria, in the municipalities of Trevago, Valdelagua del Cerro, Fuentrestrun and Castilruiz, it is the first wind farm that RWE has commissioned in Spain since 2005.
The park consists of nine wind turbines of 4.53MW each.
GES has been responsible for the engineering and construction of the civil works, the medium voltage network, and a series of adaptations at the Trevago substation. The works lasted nine months.
The province of Soria aims to become a benchmark in renewable energies. In the current process of decarbonisation of the energy model, in a matter of months several wind and photovoltaic installations have begun in Soria, which altogether add up to more than 600MW and an investment of over €650 million.
