Trianel has acquired the Spreeau wind project in Brandenburg in Germany from ABO Wind.
The 33.6MW project consists of eight Vestas V150-4.2MW turbines and is the largest onshore wind farm in Trianel’s portfolio.
ABO Wind is building the wind farm in the municipality of Spreenhagen and commissioning is planned for the end of 2021.
Spreeau is adjacent to the nearby 66.4MW Uckley wind farm, which Trianel has owned since 2016.
The location of the Spreeau wind farm project is largely commercial forest.
The Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks (BImA) owns the land the wind farm is being built on.
The wind turbines are 244 metres high, have a hub height of almost 170 metres and a rotor diameter of 150 metres.
With the acquisition of the project, Trianel’s renewable portfolio, consisting of wind and solar, is 235MW.
