Enercon has signed a contract with WPD to supply turbines for a 36MW wind project in France.
Auzay will host nine Enercon E-138 EP3 machines.
The project is located in Auchay sur Vendee in the Pays de la Loire region of north-west France.
The first turbines will be installed in October and will be commissioned by the end of 2020.
WPD wind equipment acquisition head Lars Muller said: “Thanks to the tireless efforts of the teams and partners, the planning is on target.
“It is good to be able to rely on proven cooperations, especially in challenging times.”
WPD secured the project at the end of 2017 in the first round of auction tenders in France.
The tenders were initially designed for two rounds of 500MW each and a total of 3000MW annually.
The competitive bids resulted in an average price of €65.4 per megawatt-hour for 20 years.
Enercon sales executive Thomas Hahnel, who manages the WPD account, added: “We are pleased by the trust that WPD has placed in our turbine technology and in us as a company.
“Together, we want to further promote the energy turnaround in Europe.”
