Nordex will supply its new Delta4000 turbines for a 51MW wind project in Norway, on the island of Lutelandet.
The order is for nine N149/5.X turbines, with installation slated to start in mid-2021, and completion expected at the end of that year.
The Lutelandet wind farm is expected to generate 150 gigawatt hours of clean electricity a year.
Vestavind Kraft developed the project, which is owned by Lutelandet Energipark, a subsidiary of Norwegian municipal utility SFE Produksjon.
The order also includes a five-year service contract with a production-based availability warranty, with the option to extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions for up to four additional periods of five years.
The island of Lutelandet is approximately 100 km north of the city of Bergen, in south-west Norway.
The turbines will have a hub height of 105 metres to “take advantage of the local steady medium wind speeds”, which hail from the west coast and tend to average around 7.4 metres per second.
