Tekmar Energy has been contracted by Van Oord to provide cable protection at the 382MW Fryslan nearshore wind farm in the Netherlands.
The contract covers supply of 167 TekLink mechanical latch cable protection systems for the array cables, providing protection from topside hang-offs through to burial into the seabed.
The systems will be produced at Tekmar Energy’s manufacturing facility in north-east England.
Tekmar managing director Russell Edmondson said: “We are delighted that Tekmar has been selected for Fryslan.
“This continues our trusted relationship with Van Oord and furthers our position as the world market leader in offshore wind cable protection systems.”
Fryslan will comprise 89 Siemens Gamesa 130-4.3MW turbines and is scheduled to be fully operational in 2021.
It is being built at Ijsselmeer lake by the Zuiderzeewind consortium, which comprises Siemens Gamesa and Van Oord.
