Buss Offshore Solutions and IDEA Groupe have formed a joint venture to provide logistics support to the French offshore wind sector.
The JV Buss IDEA Offshore aims to provide a comprehensive offering including base harbour logistics to support project installation phase, as well as operations and maintenance.
IDEA Groupe brings local know-how and experience, while Buss has provided logistics project management and engineering on over 15 offshore wind developments in the North and Baltic Seas.
The companies signed a memorandum of understanding at the WindEnergy Hamburg Expo.
Buss Offshore Solutions chief executive Martin Schulz said: “We are convinced that IDEA is the ideal partner for our intentions in the French offshore market.
“With more than 100 years of experience in transport and logistics and a strong local network, IDEA will deliver an extensive local content and a widespread experience in the transport and logistics sector to the joint venture. We are looking forward to our future cooperation.”
IDEA Groupe chief executive Nicolas Derouault said: “Our partnership with Buss Offshore Solutions, as one of the most experienced offshore experts in port logistics, ensures the professional and holistic approach of Buss IDEA Offshore for the upcoming French offshore wind projects and the corresponding challenges.
