Jan De Nul Group French subsidiary Sodraco International has won a contract for the transport and installation of turbines at the 480MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France.
The contract is Jan De Nul’s first in the offshore wind market in France and was awarded by Parc du Banc de Guerande, a joint venture between EDF Renewables and the Canadian energy company Enbridge.
Saint-Nazaire is expected to feature 80 GE 6MW Haliade machines, with installation scheduled to kick off in Spring 2022 and be completed by the end of that year.
The wind farm will be located in the northern part of the Bay of Biscay about 12km from the coast.
Jan De Nul Group offshore director Philippe Hutse said: “We are excited to contribute to the further development of renewable energy, and offshore wind in particular, in France.
“Next to that we are looking forward to working again with EDF Renewables and to confirm our skills and competencies by making the installation of the Offshore Wind Turbines in collaboration with GE a great success.”
