MPI has won a contract to provide support services during offshore substation commissioning works at Vattenfall’s 288MW Sandbank offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The jack-up MPI Adventure will be on station to offer accommodation, lifting operations and supply provision. The contract will start shortly.
“We are confident that MPI Adventure will make a valuable contribution to the commissioning works of the Sandbank offshore substation. We wish the vessel and crew safe and successful operations,” a spokesman for MPI said.
The substation has been built by Bladt Industries, Semco Maritime and ISC.
First power from the wind farm is expected to feed into the grid before the end of the year.
The wind farm will consist of 72 Siemens 4.0MW turbines, which will be installed by MPI Adventure from August.
