Vestas has secured a first firm deal for turbines from its EnVentus platform with a contract to supply developer TuuliWatti with hardware for the 151MW Simo Sarvisuo wind farm in Finland.
The Danish manufacturer will supply V162-5.6MW units, the largest in the company’s portfolio, for the project. Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2021.
A 30-year servicing agreement is included in the scope as is installation and commissioning.
Vestas has designed a 166-metre hub for the project.
The manufacturer’s north and west Europe sales vice president Christer Baden Hansen said: “This first EnVentus order emphasises our ability to continuously innovate industry-leading technology that can be tailored to the optimal solution for any specific site, enabling our customers to build winning bids in auctions.
“Partnering with our valued and trusted partner TuuliWatti throughout the entire tendering process of this milestone order demonstrates how a close, longstanding cooperation results in increased customer value”.
TuuliWatti managing director Henrikki Talvitie added: “We are delighted to continue our long-term co-operation with Vestas.
“We share the same ambition to relentlessly seek ways to develop the wind power business and hence Simo Sarvisuo demonstrates the working combination of efficient site development and cutting-edge turbine technology.”
TuuliWatti secured capacity for the project in Finland’s first renewables auction last year.
