Seven RWE projects have received contracts from the latest French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) onshore wind bidding round for a total capacity of 930MW at an average price of €87.61/MWh.
The successful RWE contracts have a total capacity of 183MW, five of which are fully owned by RWE, while two are being co-developed-one with Vent du Nord and the other with Escofi.
Katja Wünschel, chief executive of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, said: “I would like to extend my congratulations to all the teams who contributed to RWE’s success in the latest French tender.
“This great result once again reflects the strength of our strategy, made possible by our experienced team and the quality of our project pipeline.”
The seven awarded projects will add 35 wind turbines across four regions in France-Centre-Val de Loire, Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, and Normandy-further enhancing the geographical diversity of RWE’s development pipeline.
The first turbines could be commissioned as early as 2027, with additional installations expected through 2028.
