EEW Special Pipe Constructions has won a contract to fabricate 72 monopile foundations for Vattenfall’s over 600MW Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm off the coast of Denmark.
Production is planned for May to September 2019, with a total of 43,200 tonnes of steel to be processed into monopiles, EEW SPC said.
EEW SPC chief executive Heiko Mutzelburg said: “We are very happy that Vattenfall has again commissioned us to manufacture the monopiles for one of their offshore wind projects.
“This is good news for our company just before Christmas. With the collaboration on the Sandbank project having been so outstanding, I am convinced that we will also successfully complete Kriegers Flak together.”
Kriegers Flak is expected to be commissioned in late 2021 and feature 72 8.4MW turbines.
